Quentin A. Hollis Sr.

Quentin was a devoted husband, father, and brother who dedicated his life to family. He had unshakeable faith in the LORD. He went home to be with Our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Quentin Andrew Hollis, Sr. was born to the late Robert Hollis Sr. and Sylvia Rothwell Hollis on October 31, 1954, in Chester, PA. He was educated in the local School System of Chester, PA and graduated from Chester High School, June 4, 1974. Quentin furthered his education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Cheyney State College on May 14, 1978. Quentin joined Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Jeremiah W. Witherspoon. He was a loyal and faithful member of Temple and served on the Usher Board for many years. He was an entrepreneur and started multiple businesses while working with the Chester Upland School District. In July 1992 he started working for Congoleum Corporation, Trainer, PA where he retired as a Machine Operator in April 2017. He met the love of his life and united in holy matrimony with Renee in 1995. To their union, two children were born- Quentin II and Brandan. He was a devoted father who found great joy in raising them in a Christ centered home. He coached them in soccer and basketball and always celebrated their educational achievements and milestones. Quentin was also an avid chess player and taught his sons how to play the game. His two sons submitted an essay to “Every Man Counts - Better Dads Better Lives”. He received the Unsung Father Award for the year of 2022. Quentin was also a movie buff and enjoyed watching movies with his wife and they also loved road trips and spending quality time with one another. Life with Quentin was the best. He valued family which meant the world to him. He wanted to make sure the family spent time together not just on Thanksgiving, so he started planning a new tradition with his nieces, Hollis Day. This was a time the family could be together during the summer months and celebrate with each other. He was always willing to help with whatever was asked of him. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Quentin, loved him. He always greeted you with a hug and was genuinely concerned about your wellbeing, Quentin is preceded in death by: Robert Hollis, Sr. (Father), Sylvia Hollis (Mother), Martin Hollis, Sr. (Brother), Henry Hollis (Brother). Quentin leaves to cherish his memories, the loves of his life-his loving wife of 31 years, Renee Hollis, his two children; Quentin A. Hollis II and Brandan J. Hollis, Siblings; Viola, Robert (Stephanie), Joseph (Patricia), Asbury (Betty), Kenneth (Freda), James (Spring), Myra, Martha (William), In-Laws; Paula, Glenn, Rose, Carleton (Joyce), Beverly, Cynthia (Maurice), Wayne (Barbara) John (Antoinette), Special people in his life; Quincey and Zoe, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
