Mohammed Nasim Ahmed

Mohammed Nasim Ahmed, affectionately known as Kim (a name given to him by his late Grandmother the late Eula Cruz Abrams) was the youngest of six children born to the late Marian Mercer Ahmed and Jamir Uddin Ahmed, on November 20, 1951. After a lengthy illness, he was called to his heavenly home, Sunday evening September 26, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Kim was educated in the Chester Upland School District graduating from Chester High School in June 1970. After graduation, Kim worked several jobs, all of which were in Delaware County. He was most proud of being recognized as "Employee of the Month while working at Naamans Creek Nursing Home, a facility which he holds close to his heart. Kim retired from Covanta, Delaware Valley LP, Chester, PA, on October 15, 2015. Forty-six years ago, Kim met the love of his life, Leona (Niecey) Reed. He knew at that moment she was the person he would marry and, would be the mother of his children. They ultimately married on April 14, 1979. Kim and Niecey restored his childhood home, where they raised three (3) children to its original beauty. His siblings always felt that they were home when visiting. An avid Lakers fan (which was obvious by the decorations on the front door of his house), Kim's most important past-time was spending time with his grandchildren, especially Mekhi. He loved sitting on his front porch, waving to passers byes who acknowledged him. When, not visible on the porch during his illness, friends would actually knock on the door wondering it something was wrong. He was known and so loved by all that he was given the title, The Icon of Chester. In addition to his parents, Kim was pre-deceased by his sister Jorina Rabia Ahmed, brother-in law Dr. Richard O'Daniel and mother-in-law Beatrice Reed He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years, Leona Ahmed (Niecey) sons Darrell Reed, Shah Mohammed Ahmed (Shirley), one daughter Shaheena Ahmed; two brothers Jamir Uddin Ahmed (Linda), Monir Zamon Ahmed both of Chester; two sisters Nilufar Ahmed O'Daniel of Chesapeake VA, and Bernadette Ahmed Young (Wallace) of Wilmington, DE, sister in-law Wanda Reed, brothers-in-law Richard Reed (Roxanne) and William Reed all of Chester, sisters-in-law, Linda Davis (Randy) of Boothwyn, and Dancel Hammond (Kenny), Wilmington, DE: five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
