Dolores T. Miller

Dolores T. Miller was 94 years old when she went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born on March 18, 1929, in Chester PA, to William and Lillian Boyd Thorogood. She was a proud resident of Boothwyn PA; she grew up in the city of Chester PA and graduated from Chester High School. She was the fifth child of her seven siblings. Dolores met and married the love of her life, Frank H. Miller, who named her his “Queen” and treated her as one. Dolores and Frank had 4 beautiful and loving children, Weegie, Ching, Joey and Patty, who she adored and showed so much love and affection to. Dolores came to know her Lord and Savior at a very early age. She and her siblings attended Bethany Baptist Church with their grandfather. Dolores loved the Lord and as an adult she joined Grace United Medthodist Church, of Chester Pa, with her husband and children. Dolores was lovingly known as “MOM” to all the children in her family and even friends of the family. Dolores was a passionate giving person to her whole family. Her love for everyone and her beautiful smile spoke volumes. She will be remembered for all the love and support she gave to her family. The one thing Dolores enjoyed most of all was a good party and card game with family and friends. Dolores loved watching tennis, golf and especially Tiger Woods. Dolores was passionately known for her cooking, especially her desserts. Dolores’ desserts should have been in a cookbook. Everyone who knew her would request their favorite, pound cake, Hi-hat cupcakes with fruit inside, sweet potato pie, apple crumb pie, cherry crumb pie, peach cobbler and most of all, her pineapple upside down cake, and so many more. Dolores loved the holidays and would decorate her home for every occasion, Christmas was the most decorative of them all. The Miller home was outlined with lights, each tree was trimmed and full of decorations. It was such a beautiful display that cars would stop to enjoy the view. The inside of their home was decorated from top to bottom. From every room upstairs to basement downstairs. Every year Dolores made sure to have a Christmas tree big enough to fit in a department store. The house was always full of holiday cheer! Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank H. Miller, her daughter Brenne’ Miller, her stepson Howard Miller, and her grand-daughter Tonya Freeman; four sisters, Louise Hunt, Juanita Carroll, Audrey Robinson and Joan Harmon; 2 brothers, Robert Thorogood and William Thorogood, II; 4 brother in-laws, Linton Hunt, Raymond Carroll, Thomas Robinson and Charles Harmon; 2 sister in-laws, Ethel Thorogood and Betty Thorogood. Dolores leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Joseph Miller (Deborah) of Savannah, GA, 2 daughters, JoAnne Freeman of Brookhaven, Pa, and Patricia Fontaine of Boothwyn, Pa.; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
