A Time to Be Born – David Wesley Francis was born on July 5, 1956 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Albert and Tommie Francis. A Time to Learn and Laugh – David received his formal education from the Chester Upland School District. For many years, David worked at Discount Bedding Warehouse and was a member of Local 332, where he worked until his illness. David was everyone’s favorite repairman. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Los Angeles Lakers and the Las Vegas Raiders. It was said that he was the smartest of the Francis clan. He would rattle off trivia facts and could tell you why your dryer didn’t spin correctly, and your refrigerator leaked. He was indeed well rounded and a joy to be around. A Time to Love – David was blessed with three daughters (Shacona, Sha’Harra (Adrian) and Bridget) and one son (David). David was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren Brandon, Michael, Alisa, Bryce. Brooklyn, Bella and Adrian all who were his pride and joy. David was also blessed with three bonus children Michael, Myesha, and Christopher and three bonus grandchildren Siera, Camari and Zuri. David’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren who were the center of his world. A Time to Rest – On Thursday, February 1, 2024, God peacefully called David home to rest. He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Tommie Francis; brothers LaMont Givens, Michael Francis, Albert Francis, John Francis, and Charles “Hymie” Francis; and sister Mamie “Faye” Givens. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Shacona, who devoted her life to caring for him, Sha’Harra (Adrian) and Bridget; one son David, whom he shared a special bond and loved spending Sundays with him watching sports; six grandchildren Brandon, Michael, Alisa, Bryce, Brooklyn, Bella and Adrian three bonus children and three bonus grandchildren. He also leaves behind three sisters, Carolyn Francis, Geraldine (Alfred) Sargent, and Gwendolyn Carter, three Sister in-laws Geneva Francis, Gloria Francis and Bernadette Givens and God-Sister Janifer Hamm. In addition, he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many family and friends; special nieces Diana Sargent, Tennille Francis, and Kenya Isaac; special nephews Alfred Sargent, Jr. (who helped care for him), Myah Givens, Malik Carter, Collin Tyson, Keith Francis Sr. and Michael Carter; special friends Brion Harris, Clifford “Quinton” Doss, Carlton Gordy and Marvin Tilghman; special cousins Brian and Josette Richardson; the Howie Family, a special friend Charlotte “Denny” Martin and His “Circle of Daughters”.
