David W. Boone

DAVID WAYNE BOONE lovingly referred to as “Bizzark”/ “Biz” by family and friends passed away peacefully at Aventura at Prospect Nursing Home on January 27, 2023. The son of the late Daniel and Emily Boone, David (a twin and the first to be born) was born and reared in Chester, PA. He attended Perry A. Wright and Franklin Elementary Schools in Chester Township, Chester, PA. David also attended Smedley Middle School in the City of Chester and graduated from Chester High School in 1969. At an early age, David joined Shiloh Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. L. J. Freeman. He attended BTU, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and served on the Jr. Choir and Jr. Usher Board. David, along with his siblings, worked in the family’s landscaping business. Upon graduation from high school, he was employed at Scott Paper Company, Chester, PA and Lasko Metals, West Chester, PA. David also worked part-time at Taurus Flavors, Chester, PA. In 1996, David relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. While there, he was employed with Georgia Tech and also started a land-scaping business in the Decatur/Emory area. When his health began to decline in 2016, he retired and relocated back to Chester to be near family. David was a people person, had a great sense of humor and strong willed. He enjoyed his family, sports and loved having fun! David especially liked attending the family reunions and other family events. He was always willing to help wherever and whenever needed. David would often share how proud he was of his daughter and grandson. He also had a special relationship with all of his nieces and nephews (and there were quite a few). When they were young, David would come up with nicknames for each of them. Over the years, he maintained a close relationship with friends from Chester and Atlanta. David was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Boone, Sr., mother, Emily Boone, brothers, Daniel, Jr., and Eddie James Boone and sister, Emily Gay Boone Clark. Left to celebrate his life and honor his memory are his daughter, Denean (Nikki) Kennedy of Philadelphia, PA, grandson, Jaylen Green of Philadelphia, PA, brothers, Donald Robert (twin), Samuel and Vincent Earl Boone of Chester, PA, sisters, Carrie L. (Lloyd) Robertson of Port Deposit, MD, Dr. Kalean (Dr. John H.) Thompkins and Sharlean Denise Boone of Chester, PA, God-Daughter, Tanisha Rothwell of Chester, PA, a close friend, Barbara Fowler of Chester, PA as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
