THE LIFE STORY OF Cheryl Michelle Jeffrey August 21,1955 – February 11,2025 Cheryl Michelle Jeffrey, affectionately known as “Mickey” was born on August 21, 1955 in Chester, Pennsylvania to George Clifford Jeffrey, Sr. and Helen Annette Jeffrey. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Mickey received her education in the Darby Township School District, graduating from Darby Township High School in 1973. She also received her certification from Delaware County Community College in early childhood education. Mickey was a member of the Greater Highway Churches of Christ for many years, where she was baptized by the late Bishop Andrew Ford, Sr. Mickey was employed as a teacher at Delco Daycare Center which later became Delco Early Learning Center from 1977 until her homegoing. She was also employed as a Nursing Assistant at Martin’s Run Retirement Center in Media, Pennsylvania where she took care of the needs of the elderly. Mickey was very active in her community, where she desired to establish programs for the youth. Her passion to impact young people led her to become the seamstress for the original Darby Township Swingers Drill Team. In this role, Mickey tailored every dress, wrapped and tied every tassel, and stitched every flag. She even tailored the drill team’s banners! Mickey was also a diligent fundraiser, helping the Swingers raise money to travel to various cities, where they competed and won on several occasions. She will always be remembered for her passionate love for all children and her willingness to help those who were less fortunate than herself. Mickey had an incredible love for her family, often hosting gatherings where anyone was welcomed to attend. She loved to entertain and was known as the ultimate party planner. Whether it was the Barker Road annual block party, high school graduations, Valentine’s Day or New Years Eve, you could count on Mickey to have it decorated to perfection. Her attention to detail and kind spirit made everyone feel special. You could always count on Mickey to serenade you on your birthday. Mickey was proceeded in death by her parents George Sr. and Helen, one brother George Jr., and one great niece Tinesha Hargrove. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children Tahirah King-Carroll (Derrick) of Folcroft, PA, Ayana Jeffrey of Philadelphia, PA, Marquetti Jeffrey, Sophoal Jeffrey-Phoan of Sharon Hill, PA, Joshua Walton Sr. of Glenolden, PA, and Phillip Jeffrey-Seng of Philadelphia, PA; seven grandchildren Iyjae, Albree, Skyy, Asai, Asaiah, Te’kiah, and Joshua Jr.; two great grandchildren, seven sisters Cynthia Roberts, Carolyn Warr, Caren Williams (Maurice), and Tiffany Jeffrey of Sharon Hill, PA. Catherine Halstead (John) of Yeadon, PA, Crystal Jeffrey of North Chesterfield VA, and Carletta Ward of Glenolden, PA; one brother Wayne Jeffrey of Wallingford, PA; one aunt Ryangsuk Seeney of Media, PA; one goddaughter Aliyah Williams of Sharon Hill, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
