Sandra O. Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra Olita Johnson, at age 79, transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2020. Sandra O. Johnson was born on February 15, 1941 to George Nelson and Juanita Johnson in Queenstown, Maryland. She was the oldest of two children. Sandra attended the schools in Queens Anne County before moving to Chester, PA to complete her education at Chester High School. Sandra worked at A&P as a cashier and was one of the first African American cashiers. Throughout her working years, she was skilled in customer service at Container Research, Franklin Mint and eventually retired from Acme Corporation. Sandra was a loving and devoted mother to her only son (Devon) and grandson (Devon Jr.). She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was known for being trustworthy and honest. Sandra was known by "San-Dev" and driving her Yellow Nova. She took pride in dressing nice, and was known for her beautiful smile and having an unforgettable laugh. She was a dedicated member to Bethany Baptist Church until she became ill. During her golden years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson. She would like to shop, go out to eat, watch Family Feud with the volume all the way up, and lastly always worry about Devon. Sandra spent her last days receiving special care by her caretakers Alicia Lewis, Dawn Hines and Lauren Lewis. Sandra is survived by her only son Devon Johnson and grandson Devon Johnson Jr, a host of cousins and dear friends who were like Sandra's family.
