Ruby Jones’ Life Story A woman of love and faith, who possessed a kind, thoughtful and gentle spirit, spent much time in prayer and daily devotions. Ruby was born on April 2, 1933, in Chester, PA to the late Carl and Queenell McCarter. In life, Ruby experienced the joys of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. Growing up in the city of Chester, Ruby attended the Chester Public schools. In her younger days she joined Bethany Baptist church, blessed under the leadership of Rev. Daniel A. Scott. Ruby lovingly known as “Miss Ruby” entered eternal rest on Friday, May27, 2022 at the ripe age of 89. Ruby enjoyed singing gospel which confirms her membership in the Jackson Chorus. As it was her pleasure to serve others, Ruby volunteered in civic and community organizations for many years. She was employed by the Greater Chester Movement of the City of Chester. Ruby was also blessed to be employed by the Sunship Dry Dock Company and the Chester Upland School District where she retired as an experienced teacher’s aide. Although Ruby never learned to drive a car, she could often be seen riding shotgun and she never missed a single obligation. Ruby Jones was predeceased by her dear parents Carl and Queenell McCarter, her husband, Alfonso Jones, brothers Carl, Jr. and James, and her sister Bernice McCarter. She leaves a Godly legacy of generous love to her three daughters: Denise Womack (Wilson, deceased), of Cherry Hill, NJ; Tara Felicia Robinson (Donald) of Aston, PA; and Cherlye Sammons (Morgan, deceased), of Linwood, PA. Ruby leaves her impactful memory to her six grandchildren, Jamar, Brandon, Morgan (Carol), Brett, Brooke (Max), and Anwar Sadat. She leaves her special love to her eight great-grandchildren, a niece, nephew and a village of relatives, neighbors, and friends. Ruby also leaves behind her dedicated medical staff and her excellent caregivers. Additionally, Miss Ruby touched the spiritual life of her other play daughter, Pat, who cherishes her memory. Ruby has forever influenced the lives of many by leaving her sweet tender love. Miss Ruby was dedicated to the Lord and lived very blessed life under the magnificent grace of God.
