In Loving Memory Lorraine Carroll Benson Sunrise June 21, 1942 Sunset April 8, 2022 Lorraine Carroll Benson, also known as Mommy, Mi, Mom, MomMom, Grandmom, G.G., and Sweetheart, died on April 8, 2022 at the age of seventy-nine. Lorraine was just two months shy of her eightieth birthday, but God needed her and called her home. A lifelong resident of Chester and Chester Township, Pennsylvania, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Harold Francis Carroll, Sr. and the late Pearl Tyler Carroll. She has seven siblings: Irene Johnson, Harold Carroll, Darlene Carroll, Linda Robinson, and Lisa Carroll. She is predeceased by Jane Carroll and Daniel Melendez. Lorraine lived a quiet life. She was married for over thirty years to Robert Joseph Benson, Jr. Throughout their union, she made great use of her homemaker skills. Lorraine loved to cook, bake, interior decorate, and work in her beautiful garden, but, caring for and raising her five children brought her the most joy. Lorraine and Robert had later divorced. Lorraine was a sweet, gentle, loving, and shy lady. There was nothing that she would not try to do for her loved ones. She was always ready to lend an ear or offer advice. Her empathy was unmistakable. She smiled, laughed, and cried with everyone. Lorraine will live on through all of her children: Joseph Paul Benson I (Marguerite “Shelly”), Robert Anthony Benson (Ulett), Karen Yvonne Benson, Susan Deanine Benson, and Sandra Maria Benson-Sifford (Elliott). She has fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
