Khayori-naim Sharif Jordan passed away at home from this life to glory May 27, 2021. He was born November 24, 1989 to parents Annmarie Gaskin and Troy Jordan (both of Barbadian descent) at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, New York. His early years were spent in Brooklyn, New York. Khay, as he was affectionately known, started his school years in Upper Darby, PA, attending Bywood Elementary School and Beverly Hills Middle School. He attended The Christian Academy School (TCA) in Brookhaven, PA and was in the High School class of 2008. Khay excelled in school and was on the Distinguished Honor Roll multiple times. At age 14, he became a published author. His poem “Life” was published in the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans (page 114, 2003 Edition). He went on to earn his degree in Business Management at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. In between his college years, he worked as a Rehabilitation Tech at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA. Khay loved music! It was his earthly passion and he aspired to be great in his art. He played the drums and keyboard. He also taught himself how to play the guitar. He has several musical pieces on social media including Youtube and Instagram. He loved every genre of music but had a heart felt spot for Hip Hop. He was influenced by artists such as: Jimmi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, Bob Marley, Eminem, Jay-Z and Kanye West. Khay enjoyed sports and supported his Philly home teams. He was a diehard Sixers and Eagles fan. Khay above all loved God.
