Jerome E. Willis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jerome Edward Willis, affectionately known as “Sugie” was born August 7, 1943 to the late Alberta (Felder) Willis and the late Northrop Willis. After many health struggles and a lengthy illness he transitioned on May 14, 2022, surrounded by his family. Jerome married Jacqueline (Jackson) on January 1, 1972. They were married for 50 years. From this union, three children were born two sons and one daughter. Jerome loved and cherished his family. He was educated in Chester Upland School District. Following High School, he accepted a position with Westinghouse Corporation, where he was employed for 10 years. In 1979, Jerome began employment with B.P. Corporation where he retired after 33 years of service. He was an expert at getting what he wanted. He used his online computer skills to shop every day. Outside of spending time with his family, online shopping was his favorite hobby. The Fed Ex Delivery driver often commented that Jerome kept him employed! Every Christmas his grands, nieces and nephews could care less about what Santa brought, because they wanted to see what gifts Jerome had for them. His children’s homes and garages were filled with gifts he had delivered year-round. He took great pride in being a giver. Jerome was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia 76ers fan. His favorite pastimes also included watching the Kentucky Derby, boxing, football and basketball. Although his health was failing, he was still ordering silverware, glasses and flowers. He was planning to upgrade his yard and ordered flowers and mulch for his landscaping. He would ask Jackie daily, “Did my mulch and flowers come in? Did you make the arrangements for delivery, because it is paid for”? His grandsons were put on notice to come over and help with whatever project he was working on. Jerome leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Jacqueline (Jackie); his children, Jeray Sr. (Mica), Jermel Sr. and Jevonna; grandchildren, Jeray Jr., Jebree, Jordan, Jada, Janiya, Jalen and Jermel Jr. One great granddaughter, Jianni; a sister Eartha Reavely, a special niece Leida Adams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We the family, express our deepest appreciation for the many loving acts of kindness shared with us during our bereavement. May God bless you is our prayer.
