Gregory R. Crews son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away suddenly on Thursday February 6, 2020. Gregory was born on February 16, 1953 to Vera B. Crews and the late Ollie R. Crews in Valley Forge, PA. Gregory affectionately know as "Greg" to his family was raised in Chester and attended Chester Schools. He was free-spirited, loving, always happy and shared that spirit where ever he would go. He was a member of the Cub Scouts wanting to enjoy and explore life. He had a great interest trying out the activities in his Cub Scout Handbook. This made him very proud. After the Scouts he took on a hobby of putting together Model Cars and admiring the finished product. He cherished the good times with his family and friends especially his younger cousins. He would spend time playing cards "cheating at Old Maid" and coloring in their coloring books. He enjoyed watching Karate flicks ..... Bruce Lee was his favorite. He loved the summer month as child attending Vacation Bible School where he learned one of his favorite Bible Verse Galatians 6:7 " Do not be deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" and that is what he tried to do through life Sow Love, Peace and Happiness. He enjoyed all sports especially his Philadelphia teams. Greg loved to dance and listen to his music. He soon discovered Roller Skating and quickly took that on as a hobby. Through High School he was with his friends, "The Crew". He always kept his friends and family laughing whenever he was around. After graduating with Chester High School class of “71”, Greg held numerous jobs until he began working at Phoenix Steel. He worked at Phoenix Steel for many years until landing a job with Scott Paper which we now know as Kimberly-Clark where he stayed until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement, it gave him time to listen to his oldies, watch the food network and sports. He loved just putting the top down on his convertible, turn his music on and going for a ride. Gregory leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Vera B. Crews, wife, Janeen Crews, 2 daughters, Janeira Shaw (Zain), Janiazah Crews, 3 granddaughters, ShaRon Twyman-Foster, Shari Hill and Zara Shaw. Bonus daughter, Jashae Lilly (Marticus), bonus son, JaQua Collins, 3 bonus grandsons, Jahsir, Makai and Zayn Lilly. 2 sisters, Renee and Gloria Crews. A niece and nephew, Dennine and Derrick Crews, a God-daughter, Janera Handy. Greg also leaves behind in-laws: Mother in-law , Geneva Chambers-Dale, 3 brother in laws, Richard, Bige and Conrad Chambers. Greg has been blessed with a host aunts, uncles, cousins and an abundance of friends. - The Family
