Elvin D. Coleman "Butch" Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elvin Butch Donald Coleman was born on July 2, 1944 to the late Elvin Elijah Coleman and Dorothy Minor Coleman. He was called home to be with his heavenly father on March 17, 2019. To everyone Elvin was known as “Butch or Huss”. Butch was born at Chester Hospital in Chester Pa and raised in Leiperville CrumLynne Pa. He received his formal education within the Ridley School District and after graduation served in the U.S military. Then later furthered his education at Delaware County Community College. Butch was a member of The First Baptist Church of Fairview, which he served as a deacon along with other roles within the church. Butch was also a masonic brother with the 58th lodge. Butch was employed with Scott Paper, U.S. Postal Service, Franklin Mint and the Juvenile Detention Center. He also worked many years with the Earl L. Foster Funeral Home. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Joann Young, son Tracy Coleman (Becky), Verona Peaches Coleman, Carnela Diana Coleman, Elvina Coleman-Lee (Joe). Two step-sons William Day (Keisha) and Kory Day. Thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers Melvin Briggs of North Carolina and Donald Briggs who resides in Delaware. Two sisters Esther Boneparte and Mary Weathers both of Delaware. Extended family Michael Thompson and Anthony Lacey, Shauntay Lacey and India Thompson. Long- time special friend Lisa Thompson. Special cousin, Peggy Glass. Butch also leaves a host of family and friends. Butch was also preceded in death by three brothers Daniel, Howard and Sonny Dickerson. Two sisters Loretta Cox and Dorothy Dickerson. He was there for us whenever we needed him and always made us laugh. Not a day will go by that we will not think of him. “We Will Love You Forever and Always”
