David M. Cooper III Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On Friday, August 6, 2021, God summoned David Melvin Cooper Jr. home for eternal rest. David was born in Chester, PA. on November 15,1953, to David and Jessie Cooper. He was educated in the Chester Upland School District, where he attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and Chester High School, where he graduated in 1972. Upon graduation, David enrolled into the United States Army. During his tenure David attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and received numerous medals and certifications. Always having a thirst for knowledge. David enrolled in and successfully completed many Army Courses while being stationed in Spain, Germany, and Korea. Korea being his last tour of duty. David was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army on January 11, 1988. ‘Peanut’ as he was affectionately called, leaves to cherish: His Wife: Rebecca Cooper, Las Vegas, Nev. Son: Antonio Cooper (Monica), Las Vegas, Nev. Stepsons: Ajene Cross and Calvin Dowdle, both of Las Vegas, Nev. Grandsons: Jonathan Brave Cooper and Jaxson Wild Cooper, both of Las Vegas, Nev. Sisters: Regina Cooper, Greenville, Del. Marcella Payne, Deborah Cooper and Octavia Cooper, all of Chester, PA. Brother: Tracy Cooper Sr. (Nicole), Chester, PA. Stepsisters: Carrie Rawls, Virginia and Wyezetta Williams, Phila, PA. And a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins Galore!!! He was pre-deceased in death by his Mother: Jessie Cooper, Father: David Cooper Sr., Sisters: Larcenia Daniels and Diana Featherstone, Brothers: Dwight Cooper and Anthony ‘Raheem’ Cooper. Peanut was heavy into music. He swears he was a Master on the Keyboard. His first singing group was LUV, spelled L-U-V!!!! Peanut along with Rembert Gibbs and Robert Hussey made up LUV.. LUV would sometimes open up for, 1st Choice and The Dells, back in the 1970s. Peanut was a big Joker and loved to not only make people laugh but also to laugh at his own jokes. Also being a great Protector and Teacher to all his Nieces, Nephews and Cousins, from Chester to New Haven, we will all miss him dearly.
