REV. ALFREDA ARNITA HOLLIS SMITH Rev. Alfreda Smith was born April 18, 1930 in the city Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Laura Mae and Frederick Hollis Sr. She went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2022 at home. Rev. Smith attended school in the Upland School District and Graduated from Manna Bible Institute June 1, 1973. Rev. Smith turned her life over to Christ at a very early age. Rev. Smith has preached the word of God for many churches in and out the city of Chester, PA. Rev. Smith served as the Outreach Minister to bring the word to Fair Acres Nursing Home Ministry and City Team Ministry for many years. Rev. Smith moved to the place she called home over 60 years ago which put her in the right area to become a faithful member of St. Paul CME Church. Rev. Smith worked as a Local Elder to assist all Pastors that have been assigned to serve there. Rev. Smith served as Sunday School Superintendent and as a Teacher, she sang with the #2 Choir, served on the Missionary Society Board, Lifetime prayer meeting overseer, Class Leader and Member of Commission on Membership and Evangelism. Some can even remember sitting around her table on a Saturday morning for Bible Study. Those who know her as an excellent seamstress can attest that she has sewn many creations across the city of Chester. Rev. Smith has sewn for Weddings, Graduations, Proms, Household items and you can see her works every Communion Sunday, with the altar dressing. Rev. Smith also insisted on still cooking Sunday Dinner for her family who still assembles around the dining room table for food, fun and fellowship until she could not do it anymore. Rev. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Oliver W Smith Sr., Her Son Oliver Smith Jr, and Daughter in Law, Patricia Smith, Daughters, Rochelle Smith and Vanessa Smith Bates. Her Sister Delores Brown, Brothers Purcell Hollis, Frederick Hollis Jr and Harvey Hollis. Rev. Smith leaves to cherish ALL her memories, her Son, Michael D. Smith (Natalie), her daughter Dariling Cobb. 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Sister, Loretta Wilson, Zora Jones, and her brother Sylvester Hollis (Rosalee), Sister in Law, Marie Hollis. Many Nieces, Nephews, cousins, family and friends. Rev. Smith could be heard repeating …….. Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
