Albert Hoover Council also known as Count/ Hoover was born on February 10, 1932, to the late John T. Council and Sarah Sander Council of Bladen County, North Carolina. He was married for 67 years to his loving wife Mary A. Council. He departed this earth on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Crozer Chester Medical Center to be with our Heavenly Father. He attended Bladen County Training School in Elizabeth, NC. He loved to sing, dance, go fishing and entertain people. He was a member at First Faith Baptist Church in Woodlyn, PA. He sang on the Men’s choir. He was employed with Local 413 as a general laborer. He was a sharp dresser and a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He served in the military, the United States Army for four years and received an Honorable discharge. His famous quotes were “I pay the cost to be the boss” and hey boogalou”. He loved the children in the neighbor always handing out money to them or taking them places wherever we went. He was predeceased by three brothers Charles Henry “Pete” Council & Willie John Council, and Thurman Thedell Council (Rob) two sisters Mary Worley, Cora Lee Burchett, in laws Ella Mae Council, and David White. He leaves behind his loved ones, his wife Mary A. Council, five sons Lawrence Jones of Cedar Creek, North Carolina, Brady Council (Marlene) Darby, PA, Brant Council of Randolph, NJ, Gregory Council of Downingtown, PA, and Albert Kevin Council (Jill) Hackettstown, NJ. Four daughters Rene Council Powell (Kevin) Middletown, DE, Cynthia Johnson (William) Chester, PA, Kimberly Melvin, Chester, PA and Vanetta Kennedy, Pittsburg, PA. Four sisters Anne M. Melvin of Durham, NC, Alene Worley of White Oak, NC, and Helen White of Tarheel, NC. Nineteen grandchildren, Forty-four great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren, Sister in law Ruby Council and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friend Joe Williams. Three special daughters he adopted: Yvette Nichols Edwards, Patricia Shaw and Christine Young. Special thanks to Terry Covington and his son in law William Johnson for the special care they gave him.
