Troy D. Hilton

Troy Donovan Hilton was born the third son of the late George E. Hilton, Sr and the late Millie Ann Miller on January 5, 1968. Troy was educated through the West Chester School District. He attended Cheney University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with a dual major in Industrial Technology and Drawing & Design Technology. Troy demonstrated his skills and knowledge in his craft while employed at Bergwall Productions, SofWerks, Serveon and most recent, Infosys Limited. Troy received Christ and answered the call to music ministry in 1987 at Church of the Firstborn under the leadership of his oldest brother the late Apostle George E. Hilton Jr. Troy later continued to serve as musician at Word of Life Christian Center in Newark, DE and Abounding Grace Family Worship Center in Media, PA. It was at Church of the Firstborn in 1990 that Troy began to date Yvonne Barton. Troy and Yvonne were married in April of 1993. Troy and Yvonne experienced a lifetime of love in their 26 years of marriage. One of Troy’s proudest moments in life was the birth of their daughter Jenna in July of 1998. Together Troy and Yvonne co-labored in marriage ministry. They were excellent counselors used by God to preserve marriages and families. In addition, Troy and Yvonne blessed many with their songwriting gifts. Together they cowrote songs of worship and praise. In 2001 Troy became a founding member of Antioch Christian Church in Wilmington, Delaware under the leadership of Apostles Royal and Demetrice Mason. At Antioch, Troy was ordained as Pastor in August 2006. He flourished as a dynamic leader, teacher and prophet in every aspect of ministry. He was affectionately known as Pastor Troy. Troy fathered and ministered to many so willingly and unselfishly at Antioch. Troy will forever be remembered as a uniquely gifted and anointed minstrel. His passion for Davidic worship will never be forgotten. He released the sound of Heaven and set the atmosphere for the presence of God to manifest. On Friday, April 26, 2019 Troy entered into the presence of the Lord. Troy’s family, church family and dearest friends will miss him greatly, but they are comforted in knowing they will see him again. Troy’s family includes, his wife Yvonne Hilton, Daughter Jenna, Brothers George Jr. (late) Gary, Andre, Brother in laws Larry, Joel, Kittrell, Quatrane. Mother Millie Ann Miller Hilton (late), Father George E. Hilton, Sr.(late) Stepmother Rachel Hilton, Mother in law Janet Trible, Father in laws Bill Trible, Bradley Barnes, Sister in laws Stephanie, Pateresa, Melissa, Nieces Gretchen, Lauren H. and Akilah, Lauren W. Nephews George III and Gary II, Jeremy, Brandon, Jordan, and a host of extended family and friends. Troy’s Likes and Passions: Troy loved and enjoyed riding motorcycles through the countryside with his friends Jeff, Bob, Gordon, Mike and others Troy loved country comedians (Jerry Clower). He also enjoyed comedians such as Foster Brooks and Cartoons with Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. He enjoyed watching the many films of The Three Stooges. Troy loved football and was a diehard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Troy spent many hours in worship and jam sessions with many musicians such as Howard Blake, Donna Faulkner, Howard Blake III (H3), Gary Lumpkin, Ken Lumpkin, David Womack, Hank Countee, TJ Johnson, Tony Granger, Sam Andrews, Paul Petrucci, the Altar Band and many others.
