Tayyiba Yaasmiyn Crew, affectionately known as “Lucy,” “Yibb,” and “Old Lady,” was born on November 30, 1990, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Terri L. Bridgeford and Randall T. Crew, Sr. Tayyiba received her education through the Chester-Upland School District and graduated in 2009. She continued her education at Cheyney University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in General Science in 2014. She was a proud 12-year participant in the Cheyney Alumni Chester Chapter Cotillion and remained deeply connected to the university community. Tayyiba began her professional career as a Dietary Technician at Chestnut Ridge. She later joined Bancroft NeuroHealth in Delaware as a Direct Support Professional, where she devoted herself to helping, supporting, and caring for others. She continued her professional journey with Rodgers Corporation in Bear, Delaware, where she served as a Senior Engineering Assistant. At an early age, Tayyiba joined Providence Baptist Church and became actively involved in the life of the church. Under the guidance and influence of her grandmother, she served on the Junior Usher Board and participated in the Youth Choir and Praise Dance Ministry. Her faith in Jesus Christ was a quiet but steady presence throughout her life. She carried that faith with her through every season, demonstrating it in the way she loved, served, encouraged, and cared for others. Tayyiba found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved arts and crafts, dancing, singing, traveling, painting, family gatherings, and, most of all, spending time with the people she loved. She had a special gift for creating memories and bringing warmth, laughter, and joy into the lives of those around her. Tayyiba was especially devoted to her family. She treasured the time she spent with her grandmother and held those moments close to her heart. She had a special love for children and was always willing to care for, nurture, and encourage the little ones around her. She was kind, caring, loving, and giving, often putting the needs of others before her own. Beyond her accomplishments, Tayyiba will be remembered most for who she was. She was loving. She was giving. She was compassionate. She was family-oriented. She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend whose presence brought something special into every room. She was someone who could be counted on, and her love left an imprint on everyone blessed to know her. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace, called His beloved daughter from labor to reward and welcomed her home into His eternal presence. Tayyiba was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Idora O. Harper (Wilson), Lewis Waverly Crew Jr., and her brother, Randall Crew, Jr. Tayyiba leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, faith, and compassion that will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted parents, Terri L. Bridgeford and Randall T. Crew; her siblings, Nervahna Crew, Malika Thomas (Rashad), George Taylor (Kyra), and Qaadira Crew; her grandparents, William Bridgeford and Elaine Crew; her special aunts, Krischell Yates (Christopher) and Adrienne Harper-Adams (Tobin); her godmothers, Desiree Bowman and Perceen Davis; her godfather George Bowman, Jr.; her five beloved godchildren, Kierstyn, Shakur, Maahes, Alissa, and Yasmeen; her special friend, Chauntae Tyson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished friends, and extended family who were blessed to share in her life. Though her life was shorter than those who loved her wished it could have been, the impact she made will never be measured by the number of years she lived. Her laughter, her beautiful smile, her kindness, her faith, and the countless memories she created with her loved ones will remain forever. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Tayyiba’s earthly journey has ended, but her eternal life has begun. We thank God for the gift of her life; for every memory, every lesson, every laugh, and every precious moment He allowed us to share with her. Tayyiba, you fought a good fight, you finished your course, and you kept the faith. Rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord.
