Patricia Wallace-Hussey

Patricia Wallace, affectionately known as Madear was born on September 21st, 1941 in Chester Pennsylvania to the late Maggie Wallace and Leroy Wallace Sr. Patricia was the 5th of 7th children and was raised in the family home at 1711 W 2nd Street in Chester where she was a longtime resident. Patricia grew up in the Chester Upland School district where she attended Booker T Washington Elementary, Fredrick Douglas Middle School as well as Chester High School. Following her education, Patricia immediately entered the workforce to provide a solid foundation for her family. Patricia started her career working at Taylor Hospital for many of years as well as The Franklin Mint for over 20 years where she retired in 2001. At a young age, “Madear” joined the church where she was baptized and became a dedicated member of the Old Fifth Presbyterian Church which is now Thomas M Thomas Prebyterian Church. Madear was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Madear took pride in taking care of her mother Maggie and loved ones. Madear was passionate and kind hearted, stern but loving and always made sure she provided for her family and those who needed a helping hand. Madear was a great historian, loved telling jokes, enjoyed reading the bible, listening to gospel music, watching television and spending time with her family. On February 27th 2021, our beloved Madear gained her heavenly wings to enter into eternal life while surrounded by her loved ones. Madear was predeceased by her daughter Juanita "Boobie" Wallace, her brother’s Flozer Wallace & Leroy Wallace Jr., her sister’s Juanita "Muggy" Wallace & Beatrice Graham. She was also predeceased by her special lifetime friends Audrey Sweeper and Delores Nichols. Madear leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Terry Wallace, her sister Althea Harris and brother Ronald Wallace. Patricia also leaves behind her grandsons Khalif Holland, Breon Henderson, Joshua Wallace, Jaquan Wallace and granddaughters Ebony Henderson- Swiggett, Shantae Henderson-Richardson, Cierra Wallace and Shawnae Wallace along with 20 great grandchildren and host of family and friends. Madear will forever be in our hearts as she was the matriarch of her family and a friend you could always count on.
