Ollie W. Dale-Saunders

Ollie Wright was born December 3, 1933 in Fayetteville North Carolina to the late Lenon and Katie (McCall) Wright. Ollie departed this life, resting peacefully at home, on December 10, 2020. Ollie and her family moved to Chester Pa in 1940 and she was always proud to tell the story "we were one of the first families to move into the Lamokin Village." She was proudly educated in the Chester School District where she proudly attended Booker T. Washington Elementary, Douglas Jr. High and Chester High School. Ollie married Sylvester Dale in 1953 and from their union they had four children, Lynn Derrick, Valeria, David and Tracye. She was later remarried to the late Frank Saunders. Ollie accepted the Lord at a young age. She was a warm and giving person, her ability to love was evident through her warm beautiful smile, laughter, telling jokes and storytelling. She loved her family, immensely, and enjoyed the holidays and special occasions. Ollie was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Choir (She absolutely loved her Senior Choir) and served as their secretary until she was no longer able to fulfill her duties. She took pride in calling her members every week to remind them of upcoming rehearsals and current events. She was also a member of the Senior Ministry and the Boosters. Ollie worked as nurse for many years, employed at many facilities within Delaware County, including The Greater Chester Movement. She retired from Norristown State Hospital and then later returned to work retiring from Chester Extended Care Center in 2001. Ollie was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. All that knew her immediately fell in love with her. She truly loved sports, especially Chester High Clippers and Philadelphia Eagles/Sixers. We used to travel high and low to follow those Clippers. Ollie was preceded in death by her Husband Frank U. Saunders, parents Lenon and Katie Wright, Son Lynn Derrick Wright, Son-n-law Thad Womack, Sister Margaret Dockery and Brother Curtis Wright. Ollie leaves to cherish her memory, one son David Dale (Kimberly) Bear DE, Daughters Valerie Womack Brookhaven PA and Tracye Williams (Ray) Bear DE. Sister: Dorothy Martin, Grand Children: Shawn Womack (LaVerna), Shannon Wright, Heather Castillo, Lynn Wright, Chanel Dale-Lateef (Malik), Chania Dale, Tiara Raymond, David Dale Jr. and Alesia Dale. 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. Special friends Alice (Jewell) Baily and Ollie (Sis) Gordy and Caregiver/Neighbor Laura Dingle. And a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and extended family.
