Lindora Legette

Lindora’s Life Story Lindora Legette age 88 of Chester transitioned peacefully on Thursday January 12, 2023. Lindora was one of twelve children born to the late Henry and Evelyn Finklea on May 18, 1934, in Marion South Carolina. Lindora’s walk with the Lord was in stilled in her at an early age and continued as she was a faithful member of True Way Pentecostal Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Edna Graves for over 40 years until 2016 in which Lindora’s membership continued under the leadership of Pastor Daisy Washington until her health became a factor. Lindora received most of her education in Marion South Carolina. She worked at Kenneth Square Mushroom Factory and continued her employment for Elwyn for over 20 years where she later retired from Elywn in 2011. Lindora was known for her way around the kitchen always making sure her children, grandchildren and anyone that came over to the house was feed. Lindora had a green thumb and in her early years loved her garden where she loved to grow her tomatoes and greens on the top of the hill in her yard. Lindora was extremely proud of her children to complete their long years of service in their professions. Proceeding her in death is her husband the late Murray Legette and her brothers and sisters Pastor Edna Graves, Mary Louise Finklea, Priscilla McNair, Henry Finkley, Catherine Brown, Esther Lee Butler, Creola Whittington, Quince Finklea, Donchin Finklea, Edward Finklea, and Betsy Finklea. To celebrate her legacy, she leaves behind her three sons Jeffrey (Leslie)Legette Claymont DE, Tim (Sonya)Legette Topeka KA, and Murray (Corrie) Legette Jr Rains SC, and her two daughters Josephine Legette Chester PA, and Lucreture Smith Chester PA. Five grandchildren Natricia Granger, Tim Legette, Shanina Legette, Randall Legette, Tatyana Legette. Six great-grandchildren Traylen Sadler, Shanille Rollins Na’Vaye Sadler, Zymier Ramirez, Maki Dawson, O’Maji Dawson. Her sister Daisy Washington brother-in-law Zeno (Shirley) Legette and sister-in-law Annette (Robert) Lane, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering and the time has come for my departure.
