Kenneth A. Smith Sr.

Kenneth Alan Smith, affectionately known to his family and friends as Bone, departed this Earth to be with his Heavenly Father, on June 3, 2020. He was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1959 to the late Francis and Martha Smith. He grew up in Chester and is the 9th of 10 children. As a child, the importance of hard work was always instilled in him. He held various positions and carried that work ethic into his adulthood. He was educated in the Chester Upland School District and was a graduate of Chester High School class of 1978. Upon graduation he enlisted into the United States Army. He served for 20 years and earned the rank of Sargent. He was a military man to his heart and was proud to have served his country. On May 19, 1983 he married his childhood sweetheart, Lineada Davis. They were truly a “Match Made In Heaven”. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Liydyya and one son, Kenneth, Jr. Bone was a very dedicated family man that always took time to go to the beach, have cook-outs and travel with his family. His church family, and his brothers and sisters enjoyed his fun-loving personality and easy going demeanor. He was an avid sports fan and the Buffalo Bills was his favorite team. His favorite quote was "When I say Buffalo, you say Bills". Then he would give you a THUMBS UP with a big smile. Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother; Martha Smith Fitzgerald, his father; Francis Smith, his stepfather, Jerry Fitzgerald; one sister Darcell Mitchell; two brothers, Frank Smith and Marvin Smith; mother-in-law, Catherine Davis, father-in-law, Deacon Evan Davis, Sr; brother-in-laws Carl Davis, Sr. and Minister Jerome Davis. Kenneth will most definitely be missed by his wife of 37 years, Lineada Smith of Chester, PA; one daughter, Liydyya of Chester, Pa; one son, Kenneth, Jr, of Chester, Pa; four sisters; Dora McKinzie of New Castle, Delaware, Sara (Ron) Taylor of Bear, Delaware, Cathy Smith of Newark, Delaware, Deretha White of Media, Pa, two brothers; Donnie Smith of Collingdale, Pa, Nathaniel Smith of Chester, Pa; one sister-in-law, Lisa Davis of Chester, Pa; four brother-in-laws, Arnold Brown, Evan Davis Jr, Alonzo Davis, and Steven Davis, all of Chester, Pa; seven grandchildren; Jabree Harris, Jhalil Ferguson, Jaleya Whitfield, Josiah Whitfield, Kamille Smith, Amauri Glover, and Royce Shimmel, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
