Jesus Rivera

Jesus M. Rivera from West Chester, PA passed away unexpectedly on December 25th, 2021. Born on December 27th, 1952 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico he was the son of predeceased Aurelia Barreto- Vazquez ( Vega Alta, PR) and Angel Rivera-Febus (Toa-Alta, PR). He came from a large family and was a loving Husband, Father, Father-In-law, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend with a heart of gold. He was what we call a man of Jacks of All Trades and was known to many of us by his nickname “Chuca”. He grew up surrounded by many brothers and sisters and worked hard and learned many skills in order to help to provide for his parents and siblings. As a young adult, he moved to the states where he picked up the English language and worked his way up becoming a very well-known and respected Plant Foreman for Lasko Metal Products in West Chester, PA, and stayed there until his retirement after many years with the corporation. He later on moved his family to Chester, PA. When he was not working at Lasko Metal Products, Chuca enjoyed working on many home improvement projects, landscaping, and car maintenance and repairs not only for himself but for many others as well. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always game for going anywhere to visit with friends and family as long as it was fun, had music, good food and of course if having a good beer or two was included. He loved to laugh and make others laugh too. He was a very kind soul, too giving to a fault, but that was Chuca. If you needed his help, and he was able to do so he would without asking for anything in return. Chuca will be forever loved and missed, he leaves us with amazing memories to be cherished and a profound affect to those he held close to his heart. May he rest in eternal peace. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Olga Gonzalez-Rivera, his children Kathy W. Gonzalez, Lenette Cogmon, Daniel Santiago, his grandchildren Jose, David, Marcus, Lianni, and Daniel Jr. Santiago, two son in-laws Clayton Cogmon Sr. and Robert Carter in addition by his brothers: Carlos “ Lito” Rivera Reinaldo “Rey” Rivera-Barreto Manuel “Cano” Rivera-Barreto And Sisters: Emerita “Mery” Rivera-Febus Maria Socorro“Tata” Rivera-Barreto Carmen “Mita” Rivera -Barreto Nilsa Rivera-Barreto Juana Rivera-Barreto And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well.
