Doris A. Hynson

Our beloved mother Doris Ann Hynson, 83, of Twin Oaks, PA, peacefully transitioned into God’s Kingdom on November 23, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Doris was born on June 19, 1938, in Chester, PA. She was an only child born to the late Leola and William N. Gary. Doris Ann received her formal education from the Upper Chichester school system. Doris met and married the late James Henry Hynson in 1954. They have seven children James, Robin, Brian, Darrell, Kevin, Michael, and Keith. Doris and James lived in Chester, PA until the early 1960’s and then moved to Twin Oaks, PA. Doris was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. To know her was to love her for her willingness of giving, sharing, and caring for others. Throughout her entire life she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. As a child she attended Mount Hebron AME Church in Linwood, PA. She later became a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church some 40 years ago. Doris was a member of the Women’s Ministry, the Drug Ministry (New Beginnings Ministry), the Intercessors, and the Benevolent Ministry. For many years, she also assisted with cooking and coordinating the Senior Christmas Luncheon. Additionally, she was an active member of the Chichester Senior Citizens Association, in Boothwyn, PA. Doris latter years of employment was as a hospital dietary technician at Fair Acres Nursing Home and Springfield Hospital where she retired in 2004. Doris was always thankful and grateful for the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and to bargain shop, with her coupons. Her love for traveling and took her to Hong Kong three times. She also enjoyed family time and relaxation. One of her favorite sayings she adopted from her daughter-in-law, Ponda was “They will figure it out.” We know, Mom knows we are figuring it out…to God be the glory. Doris leaves a legacy of love that will be remembered by generations to come. Doris joins her beloved husband, mother, father, and great-grandson (Joseph) in Heaven. She is survived by her children, James Hynson (Sharon), Robin Chalk (James), Brian Hynson (Hazel Baker), Darrell Hynson (Kathy), Kevin Hynson (Barbara), Michael Hynson (Ponda) and Keith Hynson (Benicia), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Wilhelmina Dowdell, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, as well as her beloved sisters in Christ, Diane Henson, Rev. Etta Baldwin-Davis and Dr. Barbara White-Forney. The Family
