THE LIFE OF DARLENE H. JONES Darlene H Jones was born July 30, 1953, in Camden, New Jersey to the late Della Harrison and Joseph Dorman Sr. Shortly after birth she was raised by Gertrude and Freeman Jones. She departed this life on Sunday August 27th at home surrounded by her loving family. Darlene came to Christ at an early age at United Church of First Born in Salisbury, Md. Upon moving to Pennsylvania, she joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Baldwin in the early 1970’s. She received her childhood education through the Wicomico County Public school district. She later went on to graduate from Chichester Senior High School in 1973. Darlene loved to be in the kitchen. She was employed as a cook at Sun Oil Merchant Seaman for 25yrs. While employed with Sun Oil she had the opportunity to travel to various places all over the world. Such as Japan, Singapore, the Suez Canal, Panama, Israel, Hawaii, and Alaska to name a few. In her later years Darlene could often be found at McDonalds her most recent place of employment always looking to bless someone with a meal on her whether you had your own money or not. She was employed with McDonalds for over 20yrs. Darlene was deemed the COOLEST AUNTIE by her many nieces and nephews. She made it her business to spoil all her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her great great nieces and nephews most of all. Kindhearted was a description that fit Darlene best she was always looking out for anyone in need. She would often spend her evenings riding around handing out fruit and vegetables to the entire neighborhood expecting nothing in return. After work Darlene enjoyed spending time hanging out with friends. Once at home you could expect to see Darlene sitting at the kitchen table enjoying her favorite food, seafood most of all Crabs. Darlene was affectionately known as Auntie, Aunt Dar, Ms. Dar by those of whom she had close relationships. She was preceded in death by two brothers Steve Harrison and Melvin Henson and three sisters Carol Barret, Samaris Blake, and Patricia Waters. Left to cherish all the great memories will be her sisters Helen Pryor, Karen Dennis, Diane, Dorisa, Donna, Linda, and Tera Harrison. Her brothers Charles & Vincent Harrison, Carlos, Jerome, Joseph Jr. (Monica), William (Marlena) Dorman. One sister-in-law Diane Henson. Special nieces and nephew Eugenia (Walter) Dukes, Shawn (Walter) Jones, Tiffany Henson, Lisa Pryor-Murph, Brian (Bridget) Pryor & Melvin Riley Jr. Two Godchildren Martina Wimbush and Samuel Granberry as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends.
