Cheryl A. Wesley

Cheryl Ann Wesley was born on February 24, 1961, to the late Horace Herman Davis and Ann Elizabeth Kearney. In her younger years, Cheryl attended Chester High School, where she played softball and basketball and graduated with the Class of 1979. Throughout her life, she worked numerous jobs, including positions in construction, UPS, Forman Mills, Aamco, Acme, Wawa, and Sam & Sam’s, until her health no longer allowed her to continue working. On August 17, 1985, Cheryl married the love of her life, Michael Wesley. The couple renewed their vows on August 20, 2005, celebrating 20 years of marriage. Cheryl and Michael shared 40 loving years together, and he remained by her side, caring for her until her passing. Cheryl was a devoted member of Cornerstone Christian Ministry, where she faithfully served on the usher board and dedicated her life to Christ under the leadership of Pastor Paul Adams. She was baptized on June 14, 2015, and found great joy in serving and helping others within her church community. Cheryl had a deep love for her family. She cherished hosting cookouts and was known for her delicious macaroni and cheese and yams. Her home was always open, especially during the holidays—Christmas being her favorite. She loved spoiling the children and took immense pride in spending time with her grandchildren, many of whom she helped raise. Cheryl also enjoyed spending time with her husband and playing games on her phone. And let’s not forget football season—Cheryl was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. With her husband proudly cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, their household was always full of spirited rivalry, laughter, and unforgettable game-day moments. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Ann Kearney and Horace Davis; her son, Michael Grant; her sister, Regina Davis; her uncle, James R. Davis, Sr., her Aunt Renee Sapp, her stepbrother, Richard Smith; her nephews, Brandon Davis and J. Hopkins; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Davis. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 40 years, Michael Wesley; her daughter, Cheryl “Nita” Davis; her son, Robin “Buff” Grant (Lena); 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Horace Davis and Melvin Davis; 2 sisters, Darlene Rosario (Jose) and Gale Freeman (Bevan); 5 step-sisters Tina, Dorty, Nadine, Vickie and Winnie and 1 step-brother George (Renee); 1 sister-in-law Annette Wesley (Dennis); 2 brothers-in-law Larry Wesley (Kathy), and James Driggins (Barbera), 2 special friends that were more like sisters Michelle Dorsey and Laverne Hilton; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus children, and dear friends.
