Betty Ann Raison-Lawler

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, Betty Ann Raison-Lawler (Poochie) peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest. Her life was a testament to love, strength, and devotion to those she held dear. Born on August 20, 1953, in Chester, Pa, to Elmer and Anna Mae Raison. Her cousins were like her sister and brothers. Iris Jones was her road dog where they traveled together extensively. Dajuana who was a daughter to her. She visited her and took her where she wanted to go. She was united in marriage to Lorenzo Lawler Sr. and from this union, they have two children, Ryan and Radi Raison. Her family was extended with her stepchildren, Lorenzo Lawler Jr and Nicole Lawler. She has 11 grandchildren (5 of whom she helped to raise) and 5 great grandchildren. She has 4 nieces and 1 nephew and 1 Aunt, Vernoda “Nagee” Stillis. She worked for over 25 years at the Chester Housing Authority, where she helped many residents of Chester and the surrounding area maintain quality housing and improve their quality of life. Betty attended the public schools in Chester and graduated from Chester High School in 1971. She faithfully attended all the CHS 1971 Reunions. Betty was known for her warm heart, compassionate spirit, and unwavering kindness. She touched the lives of family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her welcoming smile, thoughtful words, and generous nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Betty valued family and friendship above all else. She found joy in spending time with loved ones, offering encouragement, and creating cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her legacy is one of love, grace, and selfless service. Although her physical presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the lives she influenced will continue to inspire all who knew her. We find comfort in knowing that her journey on earth has ended and that she now rests in God's eternal peace. Betty's memory will forever be treasured by her loving family, devoted friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her presence. Betty Raison is survived by two sons: Ryan and Radi Raison: her sister Emira Raison (Craig), Iris Jones, Dajuana and 1 Aunt Vernoda “Nagee” Stillis and passed by her husband, Lorenzo Lawler Sr, her parents Elmer and Anna Mae Raison; her sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Robert Walker. Betty Raison has 11 grandchildren, and she raised 5 of them, 5 great grandchildren, goddaughter, Fatimah Spence-Edmonds and a host of cousins and friends. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love carried forward by all who knew her.
