Annie Mae Jones

Annie Mae Jones, made her peaceful transition during the early hours of June 7th in Twin Oaks, Pa. Annie Mae Jones, daughter of the late Ned and Phoebe Lee (Brown) McCutchen, was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1935, to become the only girl of their three children. Annie Mae spent her early years in Ocilla Georgia receiving her education in the Ocilla Public Schools. Annie Mae later moved to Fitzgerald, Georgia where she met and married Julian “Doc” Ivery. To this union 5 children were born, 2 daughters and 3 sons, son George Arthur, proceeding her in death. The family moved around a bit living in Gainesville, Florida and Folkston, Georgia for many years. In 1969 Annie Mae and her children relocated and made a new home in Chester, Pennsylvania. After settling into life in the North, Annie Mae met and married the late Morris Jones in 1973, the two of them enjoyed the horse races and spending time with all their grandchildren taking them to various places around the city, cooking with them and taking them to WWE wrestling matches which they all looked forward to. Annie Mae was employed by Fiber Metals where she worked and retired from after 40 years of service. After retirement Annie Mae moved from the city life of Philadelphia to the quiet life in the suburbs of Bristol and later Levittown, Pa. She lived with her oldest daughter Shirley for most of her retired years enjoying time with her children and her many grandchildren. As the great grandchildren began to be born Annie Mae found new life in loving the Babies, so much so that she even claimed one Tajon “Buddy” Skelton as her own immediately after he was born. In her eyes he could do no wrong. Annie Mae, along with her Mother and daughter Shirley practiced the faith of Jehovah Witness until her health began to fail. She made sure to let her family know how much she loved them every time she spoke to them, or they came to visit. Her wit, love for family, her unique laugh and cooking skills will be greatly missed among many other things. Annie Mae leaves to cherish her memory; Children Shirley (Lester) Mcleod of Levittown, Pa., Julian Ivery of Twin Oaks, Pa., Gibson (Debbie) Ivery of Twin Oaks, Pa, Joanne (Francis) Coleman of Levittown, Pa. A host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and a growing number of Great-Great grandchildren, A Sister- in- Law Daisy McCuthcen of Fort Pierce, Fla. Lots of extended family and friends both in community and in fellowship.
